Have you ever heard of King Henry VIII?

Born on 28th June 1491 at Greenwich Palace in London, Henry was the second eldest son to Henry VII and Elizabeth of York. The young prince was never expected to become king, but when his older brother, Arthur, Prince of Wales, died unexpectedly at the age of 15, Henry became heir to the throne. Upon the death of his father, Henry was crowned on 24 June 1509  he was just 17 years old. He immediately set about marrying his elder brother’s wife, Catherine of Aragon.

His first wife was Catherine of Aragon; Catherine got married to Henry at age 23 11 June 1509 and divorced on 23 May 1533. She couldn’t give a son so King Henry demanded a divorce. Anne Boleyn was 2, they got married on 25 January 1533 and she died on the 17 May 1536 she had a Daughter all she could do Henry and others accused poor Anne of flirting with others so Henry said of with her head.  Jane Seymour was 3 she was his favourite of all; they got married on the 30 May 1536 and poor Jane died on 24 October 1537. She gave a son to little Prince Ed. but poor Jane just dropped dead. Anne of Cleeves was 4 they got married on the 6 January 1540 and divorced on the 9 July 1540. Henry fell for the portrait he saw, he laid eyes on her face and cried I must have another divorce. Catherine Howard was 5 they got married on 28 July 1540 and she died on the 13 February 1542 she was accused of flirting with others so off with her head. Catherine Parr was last by then Henry’s days had passed. They got married on 12 July 1543 and Henry died on 28 January 1547 so lucky Catherine stayed alive.

King Henry had three kids These were King Edward VI, Queen Mary I and Queen Elizabeth I. King Edward was born on 12 October 1537 at London or Bradgate Park, Leicestershire, England. He got married to Elizabeth Woodville. Edward died because he had 10 kids with Elizabeth Woodville, he died at the age of 15. Queen Mary I was King Henry’s second child; she was crowned queen on Sunday 1 October 1553. She married Philip, King of Spain and had no children but sadly died 24 March 1953. Little Queen Elizabeth I. was Henry’s last kid; she was crowned Queen 15 January 1559 and was never married so she had no kids and died 24 March 1603.

Henry died on the 28th of January 1547 at Palace of Whitehall, London at the age of 55 from heart failure or kidney failure. He was married to Cathrine Parr when he died and she went on to marry Sir Thomas Seymour. After Henry died Edward VI his son went on to become king.

In conclusion I liked writing all about king Henry VIII’s life and who was in it. The part that I found challenging was researching because I sometimes forgot to put VIII and it would come up with some other King Henry.
